WFSA Home International Junior Shore Team
 
The WFSA's Junior Fish Off, for places in their Home International Competitions, took place on Saturday, 23 March 2013 at Borth. Three of our Juniors participated and, from fishing against very strong competitors, were selected for the Welsh Junior Team. They will represent Wales in the Home International Shore Fishing Competition to held 8-12 July 2013 at Abererch.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
13 Year old Rhys Davies of West Cross has been pleasure fishing for 5 years; last year he joined the PAKA coaching programme and since then his progress has phenomenal. Mike, his dad says young Rhys is very proud and privileged to represent Wales in the Home Internationals.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
16 year old Josh Davies from Swansea qualified for his 2nd term in the Welsh Team. Josh was PAKA's 1st junior to qualify for international junior duties. Both of which are can be attributed to the PAKA coaching programme. Josh has aspiration to become a fishing coach later in the year and is keen to help his fellow junior members.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
12 year old Thomas Woods, from St Thomas, got into fishing 10 months ago and went straight on to the PAKA coaching programme. At the WFSA's Junior Fish Off he qualified a 1st reserve for the Junior Team. Thomas is a very good angler and has a fantastic chance of getting into the Junior International Team next year.
 
Update news; Thomas has now been put into the Welsh team for the Hone Internationals

 







Annual Fishing Awards

The Club has revised its awards structure and purchase some new trophies. Each winner gets to keep a personal ward, and the Club Trophy for one year.
Annual awards
There are 10 award categories:
 
(1) Best specimen fish caught outside Wales. (2) Best fish caught by by a junior member. (3) Best fish caught by a female member. (4) Best fish caught by a male member. (5) Best fish caught from a boat by a member. (6) Best fish caught from the shore by a member. (7) Best cod fish caught by a member. (8) Best flat fish caught by a member. (9) Best shark type fish caught by a member. (10) Best golden grey mullet caught by a member.
 
Only fish caught in saltwater and during the award year are eligible.

We must see a photo of the fish and copy of a verified catch card.

You can only submit one catch per species for an award, you can supersede this with a future catch if you set a new personal best

Digital pictures and details to the catch recorder

Awards are as stated.  In the event of a tie the Commodore will choose the winner.

Annual Awards Catch Registration Procedure:

Keep a record of the weight and length of your fish; location where caught, and if applicable the name of the boat. Take a photo of the fish.

Obtain verification by a fellow member or a member of the public. Obtain their contact details and signature.

Decide which award category you would like to be considered for and complete a Registration Form. Send the completed for to the Club's Fish Recorder, Jon Scott, at jonathandscott9@yahoo.co.uk or hand in on Thursday Club night. Form are available from the clubhouse on a Thursday night and on the boats.
